    Druitt Connection to Royalty

I apologize if this has already been reported but I just saw an interesting story reported in December 1888 where Prince Albert Victor had come to Dorset and was throwing a ball and who was on the guest list? Montague Druitt!
Wouldn't that have been one sight to see if it had ever come to pass?
But alas, poor Monty was floating in the Thames when this all happened.
Just a little bit of trivial history I ran across and thought I'd share.

There's a fairly long thread on it

There are two ways to be fooled, one is to believe what isn't true, the other is to refuse to believe that which is true.

It doesn't always work too good.

Here's a link to this particular incarnation of Casebook. It can only be searched by using the links in the centre of the page. Using the links on the left will bring you back to today's boards.

Thanks Robert. On the guest list for the ball was -

                      Savoury, Mr., Grammar school, Wimborne.

The Druitts were associated with the school, Dr William Druitt and James Druitt were governors. It is where Georgiana's husband William Hough taught in the mid 1880's

Looks a little like a Hollywood set for "Goodbye Mr. Chips". I can just see Robert Donat or Peter O'Toole in academic gown about this place.
