Hi gut,none of the witnesses civilian or police mention seeing someone who was local also on the night of the double murder if our killer was disturbed during his attack on stride then he is taking a massive chance by going of and attacking eddowes.Now if he lived locally why not pop straight home and try again the next night.Also if our killer lived right smack bang in the middle of the area why not more murders and could he have controlled himself for six weeks if he was walking past his prey every night I think not.

I've been looking forever but can't find anything about Druitt's work hours at school.

I'm wondering if he had duties supervising the boys at school at nght and only had certain weekend nights off.

Have you, or anyone else of course, ever seen any such details.

Hi gut,I think the police would have checked this with the school when his name came to sir melvilles attention.The biggest stumbling block with Druitt is his been referd to as a doctor either the police made no checks on him or he had studied or possible worked in medicine at sometime near to the murders.

Or that Mac knew that Monty came from a fairly long family of Dr's and indeed the "Private Information" could have come from a Dr Druitt, or he may have been told that he made a clean breast to Dr Druitt, if either was true an easy mistake to make.

Hi gut,I do think the police would have contacted Mr Valentine who owned the school that Druitt taught at I don't know if anyone has ever tried to track Mr valentines descendents.Druitt working at the school was strange anyway with his income from his legal work the extra work at the school must have been a pain for him.I think what the police found was that Druitt was free on the nights of the murders but no real hard evidence hence the quote "the truth will never be known."

Not too sure on that, but I think he had to have

1. A good knowledge of the area [but as I understand it, it was not only local's that flocked to the Sunday Jewish markets, but people from all over town looking for bargains]

2. Somewhere relatively close by to retire to, but that could have been a rented room that he only used occasionally.

Hi gut,what people seem to forget is our killers victims would have probley have taken our killer to a quite place where they wouldn't be disturbed.Also I have never really believed no one saw our killer at work I have always thought that somebody did see something but didn't report it.Druitt might have visited whitechapel for years to indulge in what ever floated his boat after all he was described as "sexually insane"

2. He had the where with all to rent a room, remember he left an Estate that in today's money would be worth about 250,000 pounds, not bad at 31 when he had had to get an advance on his inheritance to buy into chambers.
