  • I am glad you dropped in David and you raise an interesing possibility. After all, Jonathan, the 'friends' need not exclude the Tukes. Who knows, there may even be a 'vicar' in the mix in Chiswick.

    • We don't know who the unidentified friend is, but he knew that Montie was missing from his legal chambers. His status asa friend becomes the umbrella term for all those searching for missing Montie and who are in-the-know.

      If the 'North Country Vicar' of 1899 is talking about Druitt -- and it maybe just an unlikely coincidence -- then we know, in broad outline, why he vanished and why the brother believed his missing sibling was the Ripper, and kept on believeing it despite more 'Jack' murders through to early 1891.
