    Second Son?

Was MJD the second son as described in the suspect’s page? Later in the profile it states that Monty and his "two older brothers" got very little inheritance.

What was the birth order of Monty and his siblings?

Second Son of the Fourth Son

According to the Mayo/Elton/Druitt published genealogy, Montague John Druitt (born 15th August, 1857), was indeed the second son of William and Anne Druitt of Wimborne.

He had one older sister,first-born, Georgina (b.19 April, 1855), and then his older brother, William, (born 29 April, 1856).

Sounds to me like a "typo".Should have read "eldest son" or "older son'.

Incidentally, looking through the months of birth, and marriage and death in the William Druitt family, none seem to include any event in September, except MJD's father's death on the 27th September, 1885, and only two for August, MJD's birth and his father's on 23 August, 1820.

(I was just looking to see if MJD's alleged involvement was triggered by an association with a family birthday).

Of course, Mary Ann Nicholls was murdered on the 31st August, 1888. This was the Saint's Day for St Cuthberga, the patron saint of Wimborne minster!!

John is quite right. This is Druitt's Oxford University matriculation form which he would have filled in by hand when he entered New College in 1876 and in which he confirms his status as the 2nd son:
