    Monty's Collar

One thing about Monty's attire that puzzles me, is the absence of the collar when he was found. As I understand it, detachable collars were held in place by studs or buttons. Therefore I cannot understand why his collar should have come off.

Remember that his body was submerged for a month and subjected to currents and tides. I should think that a detachable collar could easily become separated from the body. It is also possible that he took the collar off for some reason before jumping in.

I think it's possible he tore it off while submerged, in a reflex action due to inability to breathe.

Hmmmmmmm more than likely or maybe the 'felons' (If such people existed) who did away with Monty ripped it off for said studs!

        Interesting scenario!

Perhaps he just felt like sticking his neck out, thereby setting an unwitting precedent that Macnaghten was only too pleased to follow
          Kind regards, Sam Flynn

Perhaps it was detatched whilst Winslade was retrieving the body.
