      Welcome, Karen.

My guess is that no, they wouldn't frequent these areas. Nor have I seen sex workers in these areas. Nor do I advocate such behavior. But to play along, here are some comments about each murder location. I'm having trouble rank-ordering them in terms of privacy. Someone more local might be helpful.

      1. Tabram: Through the alley behind the White Hart maybe? Lots of foot traffic during the day but they typically don't come that far back late at night.
      2. Nichols: When does the Whitechapel Tube Station close? I'd expect to be arrested regardless. Down the street a bit might be better.
      3. Chapman: Late at night off Brick Lane offers intoxicated foot traffic for someone plying their trade on those who have overconsumed the great Indian cuisine.
      4. Stride: More isolated/private, but it is near a school. Few venture down here. Maybe the most plausible but also the least exciting.
      5. Eddowes: I'd rank this first because this is where the fetish types would undoubtedly go. It can still get dark and lonely late at night in Mitre Square, but I assume cameras are everywhere, it is also by a school, and you have weird people like me walking through at 2 AM for the ambiance.
      6. Kelly: These are now stores/office buildings, but there is an open walkthrough close to where the murder occurred. I was there very late at night, but again I suspect there are cameras everywhere.

One of my colleagues back in the 80s used to have to open the old tunnels under Middlesex Street and Aldgate/A13 for stats companies to access their plant running through them. This was always done at night. He said that the first couple of times the local working girls would ask if he wanted a good time and he would explain that he was just there working. After a few months they would greet him by name and chat for a while. One day my mate said his wife suggested she come out with him on one of his night shifts. He said he panicked at the thought of all the women of the night seeming to be on first name terms with him and frantically made excuses why it wasn't possible.
