Millers Court - Was it Cleaned?

Chances are we're looking at random patches of grime and/or damp that had built up on the panelling over many years. There may even have been some wallpaper there once, with some of it now torn away. It's hard to be sure given the age and quality of the photograph, but I don't see any actual smears that would almost certainly have been visible if the wall had recently had a wipe-down.Kind regards, Sam Flynn

Or possibly "George St"
It's located about 1/3 up from the bottom of the photo, towards the left hand side of the photo as you look at it.
I have mentioned it before but it was not picked up on, so thought I'd try a 2nd time.
Once you see it, you can't unsee it.
But the trick is to Zoom right in and then slowly zoom out again...
Have a go and see?

Can you imagine though if when poor Mary was discovered the 'Juwes' was written in her blood on the back wall, they would have certainly have had to wipe that off before the photo and then that would have thrown the graffiti conversations all over he place.

This is the part of the picture that caught my eye...
Sorry blown it up so it looks a bit crappy. Those curved/circular areas remind of a 'clone brush' in Photoshop and look totally unnatural, which is what caught my eye. I presume they did not have Photoshop back in 1888 or even in the 1970s when the picture was found but they did have sponges and clothes.
I know, barking up the wrong tree, just an observation, nothing more.

Here are SOME of the areas I believe have been written on...
The one circled with black outline is written upside down.
Possibly the word "Frances"
Some of the words look like they include...
"Friends"
"George"
"Anna"
"Frances" (black outline)
"Flanders"
"My"
A word ending in "SS"
There are other areas that I have not highlighted.
The trick is that it only works if you zoom in and then zoom out again.
Try zooming in on your laptop to one of the areas i have highlighted, then keep tilting the screen to try and reflect the image. (a bit like one of those optical illusion toys that has 2 pictures depending on how you move the object; so it appears almost 3D)
Once you have down that, then zoom OUT and then look again and it should be clearer.
I believe the wall is covered in written messages involving a George, Frances, Anna, Friends etc...
Of ocurse, you may all think i'm barmy, but try it and see. There's nothing to lose expect you may look a bit weird using your laptop as one of those 3d image toys
haha!

I'm not being 100% serious about the walls being wiped it just looks to me as if they have and I thought if they had, why.

The wall is a Rorschach test. I clearly see a rabbit in the left upper quadrant, which proves the guilt of Lewis Carroll.
In seriousness, in the "Living in Mary Kelly's Room" video recently posted on the Jack the Ripper Tour YouTube site, they discuss tenants charging people money to see bloodstains several years after the murders. So, it is possible that some of the discoloration on the wall could be blood.
