Well, since Colin got a photo of the inside of Swallow Gardens it's not surprising he can walk on air

Colin,
Apologies, you can see Itchy park, or rather a bit of it.
It would seem that the car park is a bonus after all. You see Rob, flying can be done.....told you.

Wow Colin, the angle from above ex-Dorset St is an unusual one! Frikking good actually!
I wonder how you managed that, though....by getting into the Crispin St shelter or just hovering?
Either way, well done!

Guest repliedOriginally posted by The Grave Maurice View PostAre we sure that this shot was taken from the western end of Dorset Street? Rumbelow and Aliffe got into a tiny tiff about this photo in Baltimore. Don thought it was looking east, and Andy thought it was looking west. No one wanted to disagree publicly with Don but, privately, some people voiced the opinion that, if you were looking east, you would see Itchy Park at the end of the block. What appears to be in the background, however, are the buildings on Crispin Street.Originally posted by Monty View Post... is taken from Crispen st end looking east. You wouldnt see Itchy park as the buildings on the left obscure it. Confusion arises today cos people assume the current street runs along the same line as Dorset st, it doesnt, Dorset was further south, very near to the car park.Originally posted by Rob Clack View Post... clearly it's looking eastwards.

The right half depicts a building that remains to this day; but, which is no longer visible when looking eastward along what was the middle of Dorset Street.

The building on the left is the one seen at the end of Dorset Street, in the 1902 photo. The building on the right was The Queen's Head.

You know, it's too bad that things like work get in the way of the more important things in life. I've just gotten back to this thread and appreciate the info, boys. It's nice to have that issue settled.

Hi Joel,
It's on the left roughly where the carriage/vehicle is.

A bit late, and I'm only here by special arrangement. The photo is definitely facing Eastwards towards Commercial Street, there's no doubt about it.
