Found this tremendous map showing WW2 bombs dropped on London It shows that 5 fell in the vicinity of Mitre Square, although no specific damage recorded.

There are, apparently, 110 maps belonging to the London County Council Archives showing actual damage to buildings from the Blitz, both from explosions and fires: https://www.citylab.com/design/2016/...-blitz/481350/
These are 1916 O.S. maps hand-coloured to show what's left. A large number of them seem to be online, but I've yet to find the one with Mitre Square on it.

Imperial War Museum has some pictures of the ruined Great Synagogue, as well as some of services being conducted for Civil Defense workers before it was bombed. It was apparently the 250th anniversary that year. https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/s...ue&pageSize=60- Ginger

Alrighty, then! It's Map 63 , "City of London (East) and Whitechapel", from the London Metropolitan Archives Collection. https://search.lma.gov.uk/scripts/mw...0.125%2C0.0946
It looks as though a bomb landed right in Duke Street (by then Duke's Place), and totalled pretty much everything on both sides of the street. No damage at all to Mitre Street or Mitre Square.
