  • Crime Prevention in Victorian London

    I found this interesting: www.victorianlondon.org/houses/dickens-householdershints.htm

Either Mr. Dickens is extremely paranoid or rip-off artists were everywhere! The parent site (if this is the correct term) looks pretty big and appears to contain much that might interest us.

    Best wishes,
    Steve.

    Hey Steven,

That is a good website, and just incase you or anyone else didn't know about it already, there's also www.victorianamagazine.com , very useful website, you can get daily e-mail notifications of their new articles as well.

    Cheers,
    Adam.

Both these sites are very interesting. Thanks for pointing them out, lads.

For the benefit of any newcomers, I might also mention that the reprint of the 1888 edition of Dickens' Dictionary of London is a very useful book to have, and it's still widely available for relatively little money.

        Hey GM,

Yes, and in addition to that, I should also mention that Jack London's "People Of The Abyss" can be viewed online for free, here:

        Cheers,
        Adam.
