I apologize for being less than clear. Maps range from the 1888 postal directory of London as a whole, down to scene specific maps from the 17th century. Also a very nice 1894 composite of the murder district, zoomable down to the individual buildings. Each can be toggled on or off, as well as adjusted in density from transparent to paper like. All overlays can be compared directly with the same terrain in modern (2010) google earth imagery. This is the master file from which the Google earth II thread was made. Additionally, one may add their own plots based on what they know. Routes can also be plotted. Distances can be measured, and since most date to 1888, landscape features can be determined with precision. Since it is G.E. you can fly between crime scenes through the modern terrain also.
