Hi Chris - great stuff, but what year is this? I'd expect to see the Rothschild Building occupying a lot of the second picture. Also, Rob will be able to confirm this, but I have a feeling that they were renumbered at some point as well? I think The White House was at 56 F&D and on the map here, 56 is one of the smallest buildings, which would surprise me.

I think Thrawl Street was renumbered in 1884. I have this on an old scrap of notes I made about street renamings years back.

Could be wrong, mind

It was a map outlining improvements from 1876 as Chris says. Here's the bigger picture. It also shows potential slum clearance in George Yard.

Actually, Philip, they were not !!!

The Flower & Dean Street numbering remained intact to the end.
