Hi DVV...I'll have to look...I thought there were two types of alcohol listed...the price for what you bought for consumption at home (in the US = "package goods"), but I also thought I remembered seeing a budget item for where someone was having a couple of pints a day at the local pub.Cheers,

I remember the price of a tea (from Annie Chapman's last days), but don't appreciate tea that much.

Locking Tea Caddies were still being used in lots of homes in the LVP....I wonder how many also locked up the liquor in the house. Since many people would drink beer or alcohol rather than water that was less than sanitary, Im just curious whether at this point in time, tea was still considered as a valuable commodity due to the common usage of ale.
