Hi, Veritas. Yes and no. White's Row car park is definitely not on the site, though some tour guides try to say it is (some even say White's Row itself IS Dorset Street!). However, the actual spot of the MJK murder IS technically in a car park. The service road roughly over the site of Dorset Street has parking spaces along its length. Although mostly empty, the kerb area marking the exact location of the murder is indeed right alongside a parking space. So though you're absolutely right that THE modern car park isn't on the spot, A modern car park nevertheless is.

And don't no one get me started on Underwood!

Tour guides do it loudly in front of a crowd.

Consciously perhaps not. But you might have associated "Jack" with the letters the police collected from 1888 to 1896. Their overall tone is mockery and a strong one at that.

        Hello Byzanthine!

I personally find it possible, that the letters of the real killer were missed by the officials into the stack of JtR mockery post!

        All the best
