Mitre Square from an 1892 K&T billhead (with a hole in it). You've probably seen it before but maybe not as sharp. The date on the billhead is 31 August. There's a coincidence.

Paddy Goose, I love your b&w photo; what an interesting composition with the tall walls, curves, and shadows, not to mention the added touch of the lone pedestrian and the horse. Do you happen to know when it was taken?
Phil, that's a wonderful K & T illustration. I wonder if that late 19th C style of drawing with the very exaggerated scale has a particular name? I've seen illustrations like that of the old Sears & Roebuck corporate headquarters where the building is portrayed on such a monumental scale that all the people and vehicles below look like ants.
