    • Hi Rob,

I can now see how some wag got the idea for a certain watch - "to the horror and great astonishment of all beholders".

      Love,

        Hi Suzi,

Apparently doctors of the day used an early form of vibrator on what they termed "hysterical" women. They presumably thought it would f*** some sense into them.

Aren't you glad we weren't around in those days?

        Love,

          • P'raps we should practice insanity like the indomitable Nellie Bly (Thanks to Archaic) before the hysteria takes over - or Rob gets back to his thread!

              • Dunno ask Trevor!!! Could be a 'Histrionic Apron' with added batteries maybe

Think it may be the 'Barely detectable in everyday use' number though- although I couldn't be sure!

                    • re: Rob's find in Myra's Journal

Were ladies more hirsute in those days, or has the lady pictured been using joke soap? Gamages Catalogue had similar practical jokes at similar prices in the early fifties (including joke soap that made your hands and face black!)

Mighty quiet around here today... but I guess Caz and Suzi will be back when their batteries finally run out.

                          Cheers & Happy Halloween, Archaic
