              • Right, here goes (now I seem to have space....)

These are by photographer Paul Trevor who I found out about when I bought a pamphlet of his photographs from the Eastside Bookshop last week.

Lolesworth Street, 1978. Great shot this.

Travellers on the land between Wentworth Street and Thrawl Street, 1980. You can see the entrance to Gunthorpe St. in the distance.

                • John, that picture of Lolesworth Street, 1978 looks like a Ripper movie, one has to wonder what the person is carrying in the bag!!!!

                    • Hi folks,

Some more of Paul Trevor's terrific shots from the (not so) distant past.

Another oneof the traveller's patch near Thrawl Street, 1980.

Fantastic!! 15 Osborn Street, 1980. If you want to know where it was, it was next door to Elfes Funeral Parlour (site now empty).

I wanted to copy a photo out of this link, but there were copyright warnings, so I didn't want to risk it. People are so touchy about that these days.

If you click on the link for Hoxton, Shoreditch, Spitalfields photos, then scroll down to August 4, 2005, at 1:14 AM, there is a photo that has a certain resonance for Casebook members. It's photo of a red brick wall, just below a picture with a white and red flag that reads 'England.'

Be forewarned, this is an excellent site, but it's huge. It takes a minute to get down to the picture, but I think it's worth the time. Besides, there are some very nice, atmospheric photos here, which will appeal to Casebook folk. It also has some artsy ones that may or may not interest some people.

Cheshire Street - I just found out that Blackman's (the olde shoe shoppe on the left) was used in 'Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' as Hatchet Harry's Porn Shop.

                          • I remember it well, Big Chris, played by Vinnie Jones parked his car outside the shop, in several scenes.

These pics are awsome and really atmospheric, but you wouldn't get me wandering around out there at night!

Celesta, what a wonderful site, i must get my digicam out of focus and take some pics of piles of tyres and street signs.

It does take a while to scroll down, doesn't it!

Yeah, Mike, I noticed that there was a lot of that. Did you see the photo I was talking about?
