    Sergeant Thick's short interval...

Over at Richard Jone's* site https://www.jack-the-ripper.org/william-thick.htm

it mentions "Except for a short interval, the whole of the 25 years Mr. Thick spent in the East-end..."

Apropos of nothing but I'm just curious, does anyone happen to know if this "short interval" relates to be assigned
    elsewhere, and if so, where?

    regards,

    Martyn

    * BTW I do enjoy and appreciate the content on RJ's site.

    Hi Martyn

    From Frogg Moody`s dissertation:

After joining the police in 1868 and spending four years at 'H' division, William was transferred to 'B'- Division, Chelsea on 4th January 1872. This appointment did not last long and on the 18th September 1872 he was transferred back to 'H' division,

Sergeant Thick first joined H Division 1868. Transferred to B Division [Chelsea] 4th January 1872. Returned to H Division 18th September 1872. Promoted to P.S. and transferred to P Division [Camberwell] 8th July 1878. Returned to H Division 3rd May 1886.
Never believe anything until it has been officially denied.

Transfers occurred for a number of reasons with operational, personal and promotion being the main ones
