      Hello Jon/Hdivision,
To email someone from casebook, you simply need to click on their name over their post (in red), roll down the menu, and click on “send email to XY“. The email function appears to be activated under your name. Perhaps if you tried emailing Tom Wescott by rolling down the menu from his post below?
      Best regards,
      Maria

Possibly it requires you to have 25 posts before really activating it. I'll try emailing you.
I've just emailed you. Did you get it?

              Infernal Machines

Below is the court room scene for the case against Cunningham and Burton held at the Old Bailey, between 11/05/1885 - 16/05/1885, the witness in the box is explaining how the 'Infernal Machines' worked.
Frederick Abberline (Police Inspector H) gave his evidence on the second day of the trial.
At the end of the 6 days both men were found guilty, and given penal servitude for life.
Inspectors Abberline, Jarvis, and Hagan were all commended by Mr Justice Hawkins for their work into the case.

A Police escort through London - (old school!)

A nice sketch from 1885 showing the Heavily armed police escort of the two Fenians - Cunningham and Burton, being taken from Bow Street Police Station to Millbank Prison.

Seeing as this chap's photo started this thread, here is the best one I have ever found of Cunningham's face:
