  • The Police investigation

Admittadely it is easy in hindsight - the Police investigation - how well did they handle the case? did they make glaring mistakes? or did they do eveything that was concievably possible?
We're standing alone inside the night
    listen the wind is calling
to the dangerzone beyond the light
    and suddenly we are falling
But there ain't no stopping us now
I don't know if I'll be back tonight
It's just a machine inside of my head
and now all the wheels are turning
I'll think of the words we never said
and deep in my heart it's burning
But there is no stopping it now
    we're gonna make it somehow
    you wait tonight
and we're waiting for the light
Into the fire we will run
into the sound of distant drums
when you're walking alone in a dream
    on a highway to nowhere
    nowhere tonight

Due to their means, the clues available, the circumstances, the politics and the local climate and feelings towards the Police, I think all they really did wrong was speculate too much in print, amongst themselves initially.

I think the single biggest error would be the washing of the GSG, but other than that, they ramped up street patrols, put men under cover, set up posts along the area, performed some house to house searches, followed every lead,....forensic science was not in their hands, so what they could do I think they did.

Some come off like boneheads, but so do some in every group. They were by no means Keystones.

    Cheers Octav
