    Hi Loops,

    Great work. Thank you.

That residence address is intriguing. Sounds more like a church.

    Regards,

    Simon

Is it the parish, perhaps? I don't know whether there is a St James parish in Holloway or not, but it could be the answer.

        Yes, here it is -

Islington, St. James, Victoria Road (later Chalfont Road, later Chillingworth Road), Holloway (Lower Holloway) [1839] 1953 parish united to St. Mary Mag. Church bombed 1944, parish hall for St. Mary Magdalen built inside shell.
SAINT JAMES, HOLLOWAY, VICTORIA ROAD, ISLINGTON in LMA database
Parish is no. 19 on outline map, at grid reference TQ311852

The 'St James' in the marriage certificate will refer to the parish. I think that's quite common at this date.

Does the name "Elizabeth Patchett" (possibly "Patchell") mean anything to anyone in connection with either Abberline or Mackness? She was a witness to the marriage along with Tobias Mackness and so far I can't link her to either family.

I've come across a "Elizabeth Abberline" in the Blandford sub-reg district in my searches (although I've not yet definitively linked her to the family), but she died in 1846 so it couldn't be her. I've not yet come across any "Mackness" children by the name Elizabeth either.

I guess it could be a friend of one of them but .......

At this time the only thing that can help one out is their marriage, birth or death certificates. That's why it has said that they are very important to be prepared at right time..
