                    Please Remember

Please remember, these portraits are taken from the 1889 H Division CID group photograph, so remember this was later than the discussed images.

                      And...

And who is the detective sitting in the window with the dog?

Sorry.. ignore that previous post (I deleted it). I should really try to read first..! How about this one? I cant decide if that guy looks more like Cumner or DC Pearce.

These are all my suggestions. (Some of these I got from an earlier thread on this topic, which I can't now find).

Thanks for posting the photos Stewart.

I reckon thats George Godley on the left and Stephen White on the right in the first photo.

                                Beards

There are a couple of other bearded detectives in the picture, one near the feet of the detective sitting in the barred window and another just to the right below the two uniform PCs at the drainpipe in the angle of the wall.

It seems to me that by 1888/89 beards were not so fashionable so one or two bearded detectives in the early photo may have shaved their beards by 1888. It is a great pity that this picture, unlike the 1889 one, is not captioned.
