    Illuminating JtR

MJK witness Cox [Coroner] Was anybody with her ? - A short, stout man, shabbily dressed. He had on a longish coat, very shabby, and carried a pot of ale in his hand.

These items are really worth looking at. Easy place to hide stuff in too when done.

And no... they are not pots of ale

Interesting pictures, Batman. The miners' wicks do look like something else!

I learned somewhere that beer in the late 19th century in the United States could be carried home from the bar in whatever handy container a customer had, often in small pails, not jugs or bottles.

Don't know if the same was true of ale.

The pint pot was never found at the scene of the crime, and neither was Mary Kelly's heart for that matter. I bet Blotchy plopped it in there and took it with him.

        pubs

Hello Batman, Harry. It may interest you to know that the police inquired at some of the local pubs to see it such a container had been filled by them. The inquiry came up empty (no pun intended).

        Cheers.

I couldn't find evidence it was after I checked because Cox's niece said MJK used to pick up sailors from there. Maybe you can tell me how you know it was.
