  • Lighting at Wentworth Model Buildings

I'm new to this forum and a virgin poster so I apologize if this has already been hashed over.

Regarding the lighting at the Wentworth Model Buildings does anyone know if the wall where the graffiti was found was illuminated? It seems logical the archway itself was in shadow hence the killer's decision to duck in there and drop the apron, possibly while avoiding police or other passers in Goulsdon Street. But would the wall where the graffiti was written also have been in shadow as if so the killer would have presumably had to use a match or other light to write the graffiti in the neat cursive script described. This seems a fairly unlikely scenario as it would most likely attract attention in an otherwise dark street, and graffiti written in the dark would presumably have been less even and at best a scrawl. Possibly this suggests the graffiti was more likely written in daylight and therefore not by the killer? Any thoughts?

    Lemonburst,

    Working from memory here.

The nearest lamp was 20 odd feet way. Its location meant it would not have given sufficient light to illuminate that particular spot to such a degree as to render it 'lit up'.

Long gives us the best clue as to how dark it was by stating he used his lamp to find it.

Thanks Monty. That conjures up the image of Jack grappling with a blood stained knife a box of matches and a piece of chalk, no wonder he dropped the apron! lol
