Personally, I believe anybody who's spent so long patiently nurturing the undeserving, and then is prepared to spend serious time in Weymouth, defining it a holiday rather than an extended sentence, is already far too addled to worry about a little sun, (blimey, have you had some?); it could've been worse though...you could, like me, have sentenced yourself to a long term in Bognor Regis with little hope of parole......oh able was I ere I Saw Elba...

I’m actually sunburnt! I like Weymouth. You can’t best a bit of sea air.

Which begs the questions what was he doing with a piece of chalk in his pocket?
Did he hold a job that required a piece of chalk?......a job that required being out and about that early?

Its entirely plausible that the author carried the apron section with him, which would suggest that since he took that apron out deliberately to use in some fashion outdoors,...the discovery time leaves open the possibility this may have happened over an hour after the murder, that he might also come out prepared to leave a note beside, or above, it. Why Goulston? Well, I believe a brother of a International Club member lived in the Model Homes, the residency comprised of almost 95% immigrant Jews, and it was where Socialist Jews had congregated in the past for protest marches. Since the written message undeniably focuses on Jews, if the same person left the apron...which is highly probable if Long was correct, then the apron section may have been put there to intimate that the Mitre Square killer lived there.
