Ah, okay, thank you. I was wondering about that.

According to Halse the word was Juwes.

So it starts with Ju- and ends with -es.

There's no trick to this, it's a normal word and all perfectly genuine.

I kind of smacked my head when I saw it. A very obvious possibility. Overlooked by everyone.

Are you trying to do this with me letter by letter?

If we take the logic of your argument, the word starts with Ju is followed by a w and ends with es.

And of course it is based on the statement of Halse so it starts with Ju- and ends with -es.

So you are saying the Ju is followed by a w which is followed by es?

I must say that I thought your entire thesis was that Halse was mistaken, perhaps because his eyesight was faulty.

If we rely on the accuracy of Halse then there's nothing to guess and the word he saw was "Juwes".

A you starting to worry, David?

it will be most interesting to read the word you have found. I am sure it corresponds with the stem in the word Juwes and the plural -es.

Looking forward to seeing your word.

                              Oh yes I'm terrified.

And actually yes it does correspond with "the stem" in the word Juwes and the plural -es, which is what struck me about it when I saw it.

I don't know either but it's not that word.
