      Mike,

Rob and I have worked on this for over a year, and its been a fecking frustrating year.

We have been trying to balance the wishes of CoLP with the want to getting it out in the community.

You think we enjoyed sitting on this?

So to read your post and note its tone, joking or not, is disappointing and disheartening.

We asked for patience, and understanding. Obviously that's to much for some.

For those who have been patient, Rob and I thank you. And we also thank those who have supported us, its truly appreciated.

If it's disheartening and disappointing, that's a shame. I didn't realize the frustration you were going through. Truthfully, I haven't been around here often and was just in the UK for a month with no computer or communication (it was brilliant). You know of course that I was just playing about as I do.

        Anyway, thanks for the work.

Massively frustrating Mike, hence our reaction.

I shall take your post the way it was intended and extend good wishes.

          No need to prolong.

          Many thanks

            Well...

That M.R. James bloke got in before you.

              I like MR. James Robert.

I'm very pleased he is in this issue of Rip. Of course he is the favourite author of a well known Ripper author, care to guess who?

Well, knowing Mr Begg's fondness for horror films, I'll guess at him.

'A warning to the curious' might be an appropriate title for someone wanting to dip their toes into ripperology for the first time.
And of course 'Casting the Runes' was adapted into the greatest horror film ever made 'Night of the Demon' a favourite of Stewarts.

No complaints from me on M.R. James or Night of the Demon. They also adapted Casting the Runes for Mystery and Imagination in the 60s, but I fear most of it has been wiped.

                            Hi Robert

The 60's and 70's BBC Christmas M.R James ghost stories are coming out on 5 DVDs by this October, IIRC

Well worth watching for any MR James fans.

There was a version made in the late 70s of Casting the Runes with Jan Francis i think. Not very good from what I remember.

                                M R James

Hello Neil, Robert, Rob and Lucky. Many of those great BBC productions of James are available from YouTube.

Say the word and I can provide the links--provided the original poster does not smite too hard for my being off topic. (heh-heh)

                                Cheers.
