Thank you, Chris!
My enticement for you to join us in Baltimore; there will be some revelations involving Ripper suspect Francis Tumblety (aside from what Joe and David will be presenting).
Sincerely,
Mike

Hi all
My colleague, Janis Wilson, and I are continuing to crunch numbers for the April event to come up with a final registration price and exact arrangements. Meanwhile we are pleased to continue to announce speakers who will appear at the event. One of the speakers will be Michael L. Hawley talking about Dr. Francis Tumblety and, we hope, appearing on panels on Tumblety and on Ripper fiction, which is one of Mike's interests.
This morning, Janis and I visited a hotel not far from the Maryland Historical Society where we hope the Friday reception and Saturday banquet will be held. Again, complete details and more speakers to be announced shortly.
Best regards
Chris

Hello Everyone
Exciting news to follow soon as we continue to invite speakers and firm up the lineup for the weekend. Also exact information on the registration and hotel costs will be announced.
Meanwhile, here is a recent vintage postcard purchase of mine, relevant to those of you who are interested in taking in an Orioles baseball game while in Baltimore. The renovated Camden Yards Station of the B&O Railroad is now part of the Camden Yards complex where the Orioles play. Historically this was also part of a violent railroad strike and riot in 1877 which pitted railroad workers against the B&O management... one of a series of riots in the 19th Century that earned Baltimore the reputation of "Mobtown."

An interesting essay about Edgar Allan Poe and Baltimore written by poet Michael Fallon for Loch Raven Review, of which I am one of the editors. Enjoy.

Upcoming at the Jack the Ripper Conference in Baltimore, April 8-10, 2016:
Historian Christopher T. George will talk about "The Last Days of Edgar Allan Poe -- Murder or Something Else?"
As a resident of Baltimore, Chris has taken a long-time interest in the mystery of Poe's death -- as interesting in many ways as the tales of mystery that Poe wrote.
Full details on the April event to follow soon.
