Myself and my mrs will be attending. I live only a few stations away from Cardiff Central so will be a great first JTR event for me. My family is from Cwmavon which is linked with MJK by some people...and my family is full of Davies men who were miners.....

Message from Trevor:

ok The Cardiff Job people - final chance for a say on catering options, we are considering going for the sit-down option, and then people will have the option of choosing 2 or 3 courses for the prices already given, not too far over the initial £10 a head and giving a wider choice. Any objections? Speak now or forever hold your peace!

grrrrr
I've just had my ten week rota for work, guess who is scheduled to work the saturday 16th July?
I will try to get a shift swap tomorrow. Otherwise i won't be able to come.
Can anyone give me an idea of how much a hotel would be if i can get a swap? Finances are tight but I really do want to attend.
Thanks

Atlantic Wharf Travellodge was £39 but is fully booked to my consternation. The city centre travellodge is £70-odd and there are many more hotels of various quality around the £50 mark.

The Cardiff Job is proud to present the first ever LIVE Jack the Ripper Vidcast.
At 6.30 (BST) Saturday our panel will be pitted questions put forward by our in house audience and Ripperologists around the world.
Hosted by Trevor Bond, with panellists Jenni Shelden, Neal Shelden and Bob Hinton. Subjects to be debated include Jack the Ripper and Me, Jack the Conspiracy and Mary Jane Kelly – Where are we Now?
Ways to take part:
1. Watch the stream and use the built in chat function to add questions to the debate.
2. Post questions before hand on JTR Forums and Casebook
3. Post questions during the debate on JTR Forums and Casebook.
4. Twitter @jonrees87 or #cardiffjob
This live audiovisual event (yes, video and audio!) will be archived later so you can watch again.
There will also be a short opportunity for "any other business" for any off topic questions for our panelists.

Quick note to all that the weather is pretty good here at the moment, cool but dry if a little grey - however should it be raining heavily (as it was last night at various points) then the meet for the walk at 11am this morning will not be outside Cardiff Bay station, exposed to the elements, but under the awning of the front entrance of the Atlantic Wharf Travelodge a hundred yards or so down the road directly ahead of you if you are standing with your back to the station. We will also be able to see from there if people are standing in the rain outside the station looking lost, and send out some poor soul to collect them.
For the moment however, Cardiff Bay Station at 11am as planned - or, indeed, 9.30am by the Millenium Centre (not the Millenium Stadium) in the Bay to go in search of breakfast.
Also we regret to announce that due to unforseen and personal circumstances we have a change to the panel for the vidcast. Bob Hinton will no longer be able to attend today, however his spot on the panel has been generously - and bravely! - filled by Paul Kearney, whom some of you may better know as 'Nemo'. Our best wishes to Bob and the 'best of British' to you Paul!Last edited by tnb; 07-16-2011, 09:50 AM.
