Of course, if Jews DID use Mccarthy's shop (and it wasn't just used by gentiles) then it could imply that Jews used his shop around the time Kelly was slain.

They undoubtedly did out of habit. There was a predominantly Jewish population in Millers Court in the years prior to the 1880s.

And in the height of Fenian fever and discussions about Irish involvement a few years ago I posted a newspaper reporting on the pawn ticket with the address given as 6 Dorset Street suggesting that the police should look at 6 Dorset Street, Dublin, as opposed to Spitalfields ,and guess what. .When I looked at the 1891 census at 6 Dorset Street, Dublin there was actually a family named Kelly! Yes, Catherine Eddowes did go by the name Mary Kelly, but Mary Kelly had (we are told) previously been known as Mary Davis, and the next death, that of Rose Mylett, whose first name was Catherine, had also been known as Catherine Davis.

And Catherine Mylett, who also went by the name Kate Davis (as in the 1881 census at Mile End), had a mother whose maiden name was Kelly.

Yes, that's right Tom. Discussion about Eddowes possible Fenian involvement was a hot topic of discussion at that time so it was probably much more of an interesting coincidence back then than it is now!

It's perhaps another coincidence in that Eddowes gave the name "Mary Kelly" (an Irish name) and a possible involvement with the Fenians (Catholics) was discussed at the time after the potential Dorset St in Dublin connection, and then Eddowes ends up being murdered in Mitre Square, a Mitre a headress worn by Catholic Bishops (and Lutherans I believe?)
And then the coincidence continues when an actual Irish Catholic woman (Welsh?!) going by the faux name of "Mary Kelly" is then murdered just off of Dorset Street in London, inside a room run by a local Irish man (mobster?) named Mccarthy, who then pays towards her having a Catholic funeral and being buried in a Catholic cemetery.

It could be argued that IF MJK was the target, then was Eddowes murder a matter of mistaken identity?

If the murders had any political angle and motivation, then could the murders seemingly have stopped after the target MJK was finally found and dispatched?

The coincidences between Eddowes and Kelly are there to be seen.
