This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.

        Incredible, indeed.

"Naming Jack The Ripper, by Russell Edwards, will be published by Sidgwick & Jackson on September 9, priced £16.99. "

        ha!

        I'll wait from police confirmation.

I think someone needs to check on Ed and Christer, see if those guys are ok.

          And maybe Simon Wood too.

Must be upsetting for them. ;-)

            Hi Monty,

            Thanks for your concern.

My fit of uncontrollable laughter lasted a fair while, but I'm okay.

First the diary, then the marginalia and now a shawl.

Gotta go. The giggles are coming back.

            Regards,

            Simon

                  I am relieved Simon.

Yes, this did make me laugh also. I can imagine what good ol Melvin Harris is making of this from the heavens.

                  Oh the rage.

The Daily Mail has a long history of promoting unreliable theories of the Ripper's identity. As always we need to wait for the full details before reaching a conclusion. Some preliminary questions that occur to me from the article are:
                      1. How reliable is the test on Eddowes' descendant, bearing in mind that there are good reasons to doubt the provenance of the shawl?
                      2. Mr Edwards states that the shawl was too expensive to belong to Eddowes. How then did Kosminski afford it?
                      3. How reliable is the vacuuming DNA test? Has it been used in other cases and independently verified as a proper scientific method?
                      4. Will Mr Edwards and Dr Louhelainen allow other scientists to check their conclusions?

The best conclusion here is that Kosminski was a cross-dresser.

                        huh?

Maybe it's not a shawl at all but the cape a hairdresser puts around you so hair doesn't go everywhere and at some time he cut her hair.

Do they still put a cape around you haven't needed a hair cut for years.

Yep and the list of clothes she was wearing doesn't mention a shawl, but that's because the police nicked it.
