    Ripper sites in 2025

Hi, all. I’ll be visiting London in a week and I want to visit some of the ripper sites. I’m hesitant about a tour, particularly as I’d want to to be a smallish group run by someone I trusted (I know several people from the message boards used to give tours, but that was a while ago).

I know the C5 murder sites have all changed radically, but any suggestions or tips on these or any related sites would be appreciated.

    Hi CP,

One thing that you could do is to get Edgar’s Walking Guide No One which is Jack the Ripper’s East End which is an A5 size book written by Richard Jones and Adam Wood (both of whom know their stuff) With this book you begin at Aldgate East Underground, Exit 1 and finish at The Ten Bells 3 hours 45 minutes later. Obviously you can walk at your own pace and stop at any time for food/drink. It takes in all of the murder sites (except for Dorset/Duval Street which no longer exists) You also get the Pinchin Street arch, the former Commercial Street police station, the site of the entrance to Swallow Gardens, St. George’s-in-the-East mortuary etc.

Directions are easy to follow too.

It is a touch expensive though. The cheapest that you get get a copy for is £17.17 and of course you woulld need to check that you were going to receive it in good time. It’s a very good book though and I’m certainly considering getting one of the other guides.

Thanks - from a previous visit to London I picked up a small self-guided booklet but that early 20 years old now and I’d bet more than a few locations are now out of date.
