Although I believe that Jack the Ripper more than likely murdered Elizabeth Stride, it is reasonable to take the other position. Here, I am starting with the assumption that Jack did not kill Stride. This thread isn't to debate that point.
How early could Jack have known about the Stride murder? Is it possible he could have known before murdering Eddowes or shortly thereafter? The Stride murder certainly may have complicated his route home, angered him, and could account for the GSG.
