Hi all , Ive changed my profile pic for the time being to my best friend Toby who passed away recently of heart failure. He was 12 years old when he passed and he gave us 12 of the happiest and joyful and loving years we could ever have . A once in a lifetime dog who will forever live in our hearts .

In my experience pet loss is one of the most painful things to go through, as the relationship is uncomplicated, pure and based on unconditional love.
Will raise a glass to Toby.
Sending condolences.

Sorry to hear about your dog Fishy.
Toby is a good name too. As you probably know, he was the dog that Sherlock Holmes used to follow a scent across London in The Sign of Four.
I’ll raise a glass to Toby too.Regards

Ms Diddles and Herlock , Thankyou both for your very kind thoughts . I've grieved for many humans and pets over my lifetime, but the loss of my 17 year old siamese soul mate (my avatar pic) was the one that completely devastated me.
Just go with it. That's all you can do.
It really does get better in time though.
When you're over the worst, I'd recommend doing something nice in memory of Toby.
Volunteering at an animal shelter or doing a fundraiser.
It really does make you feel a little better.
Hang in there, buddy!

My sincere condolences, Fishy. It's always hard to lose a loved one, perhaps especially pets. Can you share with us one of the good moments that you had with Toby?
