The third one is the loop that you put over your head to hold the bib up.
In some cases this loop is actually two separate strings, making four altogether.
We don't know what type of apron she wore, nor how she wore it (with the bib up or down).
Therefore you are in no position to say the apron could not have remained attached to her body, clearly it did.
