  • The mortuary photographs

There are mortuary photos of Tabram, Nichols, Chapman, Stride, Eddowes, and Coles. Would they have likely also taken such a photo of Kelly, or would they have likely decided that it was unnecessary considering the facial mutilations left her unrecognizable? Or maybe because they already knew her identity they decided they didnt need a photo?

At that time, when police photography was kind of new, would they have taken such photos of all murder victims or only murder victims who had yet to be identified?

Would they have likely taken such a photo of Emma Smith, or perhaps unlikely since police were only brought in so far after the crime had been committed?

Funnily enough, I raise this in my book.

Photos were taken for idetification purposes, most commonly of those who drowned in the Thames, and issued to all stations for use.

I believe a photo would have been taken of Kelly, as one was already taken at the scene.

Is your book out yet? If so, which one? I just bought Tom Wescott's book Sunday, it's very good so far. Rob House's book is one of my alltime favorites.
