  • Gone, but not forgotten...

    Hi all

I wanted to start a thread to discuss some of those individuals who have contributed to the world of "Ripperology," but who are no longer with us.

This thread is intended to honour and celebrate those who have passed, and comes from a place of respect and admiration.

I'd like to talk about anyone and everyone, and not solely individuals who were members of this site and/or others.

Please feel free to include former researchers, writers, investigators, historians etc...

And of course, positive comments only please; and if you can't adhere to the respectful nature and intention of this thread, then please refrain from commenting at all.

I'd like to start by paying homage to the late Mr Chris Scott.

His commitment and passion for the case was off the charts and every time he posted, he had something relevant to say that was worth listening to. I read his posts almost every time I log in because the amount of data he submitted was incredible. I joined this site after he had already passed, but I feel like in many ways he is still contributing to this site even now because when researching any given Ripper-related topic, I often think... "i wonder what did Chris thought about this."
I often refer to his posts because they are a gold mine and contain so much that we can use to learn more about the case overall. Clearly, he was an absolute legend and I tip my hat to such a brilliant man.

Robert Linford. A very knowledgeable researcher and nice guy and Dave White, another nice guy, who posted on both forums as Cogidubnus.

I’ll also add the recently deceased David Anderson who wrote an excellent book on his suspect, Druitt.
