This photo of Jack McCarthy, his son ‘Steve’ and his grandson, Jack (all three were ‘Jacks’) appeared in The Mirror of Life (Boxing World) on 8th January, 1902. Jack senior’s face is invisible in the image provided by FMP - can anyone access a clearer version?

I tried to see if there was anything I could do with the BNA scan - the answer is very little. See below. Hopefully someone can source a better version.

Near where I live in Romford there’s a shop that sells boxing memorabilia and publications. They have some old stuff, but I don’t know whether that includes editions of Boxing World from the 1900s.

I’m in Dorset right now, but when I get back to Romford at the weekend I’ll go in and make some enquiries.
