  • What do you think is the "sickest" crime you know of?

There are many awful crimes, like that poor girl who was tortured and killed in a basement.

But for me, I think so far, the "sickest" one I know of is the Black Dahlia. It's not because of the gore of the scene or the way she was seemingly tortured (it's bad, but there have been way worse). It's specifically the way her body was posed as some kind of surrealist art exhibit.

Things like murder, torture, cannibalism, rape - they're all unpleasantries, but they fit together since they're all grisly and evil acts.

But the juxtaposition of something so horrifying as a tortured, murdered, violated and bisected woman - with something meant to be beautiful or inspiring (art) - in my mind is truly deranged in a unique and disturbing way that I haven't seen before.

    hi WWH
by far the ones in which torture and rape are involved. while what gruesome things are done to the body after death is bad, it is no where near the evil involved of torture of a living human being. so killers like the hillside strangler/s, BTK, Lake and Ng, etc. and any others that involve extended amounts of time while torturing is involved.

The murder of three year old James Bulger. Abducted from his mother by two ten year olds who tortured him, killed him and left his body on a railway line.

One of the boys threw blue Humbrol modelling paint, which they had stolen earlier, into Bulger's left eye. They kicked him, stamped on him and threw bricks and stones at him. Batteries were placed in Bulger's mouth and, according to police, some batteries may have been inserted into his anus, although none were found. Finally, the boys dropped a 10-kilogram (22 lb) iron bar, described in court as a railway fishplate, on Bulger. He sustained 10 skull fractures as a result of the bar striking his head. Alan Williams, the case's pathologist, stated that Bulger suffered so many injuries—42 in total—that none could be isolated as the fatal blow. Thompson and Venables laid Bulger across the railway tracks and weighted his head down with rubble, in the hope that a train would hit him and make his death appear to be an accident. After they left the scene, his body was cut in half by a train. (WIKI)

Horror upon horror the two murderers were eventually released with new identities and full anonymity for life.

Except that one of them has since been banged up twice more...both for possessing child pornography.

Some crimes are just so bad that the perpetrators should never be released.
