  • Weird 'Times' article

This 'Times' article from 11th September 1888 mentions the name 'Jack the Ripper' already - before the 'Dear Boss' letter was sent! - and has a list of East End murders containing Elizabeth Stride, "Mrs. May (sic) Eddowes", Mary Jane Kelly and Alice M'kenzie. All of them were murdered after (!) that date.

As I don't assume the 'Times' had a time machine, something must have gotten confused here?

    Hi K-453,

    It's a transcription error.

If you read the article closely you'll see that the section bearing the name JtR is from a report on the 1889 Pinchin Street murder.

    Regards,

    Simon

      Freudian slip?

It was the search of the vessels in the river and dicks that attracted my attention!
