    A request

    Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can help me.

I was discussing PC 63 L (the PC in IPN 24 Nov 88 with regards Kelly Murder) either here on this site or JtR Forums a while back.

Now in the midst of this was a mention of a report where it was rumoured the PC saw what was happening in Millers Court and beat a hasty retreat.

    Can anyone recall this?

I have the source but musta filed it away in the wrong place and without proper reference......its doing my head in.

Any help will be gratefully received.

    Cheers
    Monty

    You have the source?
So you know who said/wrote/published it?
    Regards, Jon S.

      Hello, Monty.
I sort of remember this too. Was it part of a tale told to a writer or jounalist by a local woman called Meg something or other (probably Margaret Hames)? Can't remember the details I'm afraid.

      Best wishes,
      Steve.

You're right Steve. Many thanks to you and Jon.

I have the article if you need it, Monty. It was also re-published in the last issue of Ripperologist or the one before in the Press Trawl.

            Yours truly,

            Tom Wescott

              Many thanks Tom,

However I've managed to locate it.

              Cheers anyway.

                I'd like it?

                Tom,
If its not too much trouble Tom I would like to see it. Or if you could direct me on where to go, I would much appreciate it. It sounds very interesting and I had never heard that before.
                Thanks for any response.

Hi Red. PM me your e-mail addy and I'll send you the article. It doesn't amount to much, though, just the ravings of a crazy old woman, but I find it interesting because she was friends with victim Emma Smith and appeared at the inquest. I think the article represents an important study of how these murders impacted the other people involved, who more often than not simply disappear off the radar.

                  Yours truly,

                  Tom Wescott
