  • Ripper Vernacular...

    Hi all,

I’ve noticed we have some difficulty putting a suffix on supporters of certain candidates; for example, Kozminski-ites and Druittists. I think we should come up with alternatives that we all agree upon for all sorts of elements within the case…………….

I’ll offer the following and ask for opinions and assistance as we progress towards an anthology…………. This way if we’re confused about Hutchinsonians say, we can always use the substitute moniker. Here goes…

    Supporters of ….

    Kozminski (Kosmos)
    Druitt (Druids)
    Tumblety (Tumblers)
    David Cohen (Cohen Brothers)
    Hutchinson (Starsky and Hutchers)
    Cross/Lechmere (Criss Crossers)
    Jacob Isenschmid (Jacobins)
    Charles Le Grand (Chucksters)

    Other characters…..

BS Man – (Broad Shoulders) or (Bull Sh*t)
    Astrakhan Man - (Astro-Man)
Blotchy - (Blood, Sweat & Tears)
Lawende, Levy & Harris – (Curly, Larry & Mo)
    Sir Robert Anderson - (?)
    Frederick Abberline - (Fast Freddie)
    Israel Schwarz - (Charlie Chaplin)

    Documents

McNaughten Memoranda – MM (Muddled Mess)
Swanson Marginalia - (Dear Boss Letter II)
    Littlechild Letter – (Tumbling Dice)

As you can see, this is just the beginning…………..………..I suppose locales, churches, letters etc. can also have optional slang names like Prostitute’s Church for St. Botolph’s. I need help and ideas. We may have to write a book and create an index someday…………..

I can see it now…….Ripper Vernacular from A to Z

Hello Greg. Nice, but permit me to recommend "Cross dressers" for the Cross/Lechmere supporters. Much simpler.

    Cheers.

I like it Lynn, I think we're off to a mediocre start...
