Occasionally, a genuine treasure washes up on the shore along with the detritus. I am convinced the original " from hell " letter will appear, and i even envision the packaging material that was sent to Mr Lusk being discovered with retrievable DNA from the kidney donor, be it Eddowes,an anonymous human, or member of the East End livestock population. I believe that a female descendant of Eddowes was found, so there is no reason why it should not be. Money should be no object, as anything Ripper related seems to attract the media inordinately. Patricia Cornwells genuine interest in the case, and her deep pockets, may also inspire miraculous discoveries in the future. I really hope she does make the breakthrough just to shut her critics up.
Perhaps a list of most wanted should be created to help the cause. My lusk material with ancient but usuable mitochondrial DNA is going on it.

There's a lot to respond to there, but what occurs to me immediately is that indeed there are known descendants of Catherine Eddowes- in fact she has more living descendants than any of the other victims by far, as detailed in "The Victims of Jack the Ripper" by Neal Stubbings Shelden.
