Calling Cards

Hi all, I just wondered if anyone could answer a question for me.

I read somewhere once that the police found next to one of the victims (cant remember which one) a wine glass full of blood and on watching a dramatized version of events certain items were layed out in a neat row. Is there any truth in this? If so could anyone provide me with full details of what where and who?

Hello Chud. I think the reference was to quantity of blood. The idea is that the amount of blood was equal to what a wine glass would hold.

The other reference is likely to Annie Chapman's death site where her possessions were laid out neatly, having been previously in her pocket/s.

As I recall the items laid out at Annie's feet included a comb, a folded piece of muslin, and a torn envelope containing some pills.

Hi there, that is a perfect example of how things get miss read and mixed up. I honestly thought it was a glass of blood found at the scene and never for one minute thought it was the quantity.

Chud probably was referring to the fact that the "glass of blood" could have been a "calling card" as is used by many criminals. For instance, if you have ever seen "Home Alone" Marv called himself and Harry the "wet bandits" and would stuff the sinks with a towel and turn the water on as a "calling card."

Thank you JosephDurham and just incidentally (dont worry this story wont take long but adds to what I was trying to say) a cousin of mine was burgled by a man who would leave three upturned opened yoghurt pots in the kitchen.
