Although it is not universally accepted, most Ripperologists do not believe any of the so-called "Ripper Letters" are fromt he killer himself - hence the nickname "Jack the Ripper" came from someone other than the killer. Assuming the letters and the name is not genuine, what nickname do you think "Jack" might have given himself, and why?

What Would Jack Have Called Himself?

He'd have called himself Bob. Or Mike. Or Pete. Or whatever his name was. The vast majority of serial killers don't name themselves. Even Son of Sam who self-identified as that didn't do it as a name, but as a description.
Let all Oz be agreed;
I need a better class of flying monkeys.

Makes sense to me, Ally. There may be others, but the only serial killers I can think of that gave themselves a nickname was California's Zodiac Killer and the BTK Killer. Richard Ramirez referred to himself as the Night Stalker, but I believe that was only after the news media christened him as such. Many of the criminals/killers of the 1930s - "Pretty Boy Floyd", "Baby-Faced Nelson", "Machine Gun Kelly" - HATED ther media-given nicknames. Maybe Jack did as well.
