    Hello Phil. Great find!

I wonder about the origin of the Jewish anarchist qua Ripper theory?

    The best.

        Phil,
Maybe something I came across recently has a slight bearing .In a book I have,Sir Basil Thomson, who in 1913 succeeded Sir Melville Macnaghton,is stated to be of the opinion that Alexander Pedachenko was the 'Ripper'.
Pedachenko,it has been claimed, was connected to the Russian secret service.
        Regards.

Phil....I thought this was common knowledge.

I think it's difficult to imagine the contempt that the establishment reserved for anarchists. They were the 'enemy within'. Jews were linked.....though it was largely perceived to be an Eastern European movement........Jewish or otherwise.

It may well be underestimated just how much it would have been assumed by some members of the establishment that this man couldn't be 'English'. It just wasn't in the spirit of loyalty/fair play/honour etc.....the characteristics that were imagined to be the preserve of the English.
