              • off his Rocker

Hello All. At the same time, a very dangerous anarchist agitator was prowling about. 'Zounds!

Thanks again to Maria, who promises a fine translation from the French once her schedule cools off.

                Cheers.

                • Hello all.
A translation for Lynn's post #319, referring to the photograph in post #318:

                  “Paris, 21 december 1907.
Report of the chief of the 3d brigade to the General Director of investigations.
I have the honour to transmit to the General Director of investigations the attached photograph representing the members of the Russian anarchist group at the Rue des Ecouffes.
At the bottom of the picture the names of the members are inscribed, apart from the person nr. 7, about whom we have no information whatsoever.
                  The person named KOSAVIELSKY (nr. 14) has been signaled as the treasurer of the group, while the person named LEISER (nr. 6) has been signaled as intending to commit an attack against Mr. Clemenceau.“ {i.e., the French Prime Minister}
                  Best regards,
                  Maria

                  • inspector Melville and the French

A translation of the letter attached in posts #320-21:

                    “The Ministery of Foreign Affairs
                    Department of Political Affairs
                    North Department

                    Paris, July 2 1894.

                    Re. Anarchists.

Dear President of our Council and dear colleague,
Our Ambassador of the French Republic in London just gave me the following information after a communiquee by inspector Melville which was offered to him in confidentiality. The London anarchists are rumoured to be pleased by the recent attack against President Garnot and they intend to publish a manifesto pertaining to this affair.
I am honoured to communicate you this information, to be used in full advantage.
Please accept my assured consideration, dear President of our Council and dear colleague.“
                    Best regards,
                    Maria

                    • off their Rocker

Finally, a translation of the French spy report attached in post #322:

                      “Paris, December 4, 1907.

We have gained the information through ROCKER that a “misappropriation“ of 60.000 roubles has occurred recently (we ignore in which city exactly this occurred) by a group of anarchists who call themselves the “Bontari“; we believe that this group has its provenance apparently in an eponymous organisation located in Geneva.
The products of this monetary misappropriation has been shared between the groups of Geneva and London, who received the majority of the money, while the Paris group received 5.000 roubles.
Regarding meetings organized my ROCKER, there has only been one meeting, which turned out very violent: It's the meeting of a workers' group spotting caps {fabricating caps?}. While speaking about syndicalism, ROCKER powerfully praised the merits of sabotage and other direct actions.
ROCKER is a very dangerous anarchist agitator, and his influence on the public is immense and nefarious.“
                      Best regards,
                      Maria

Hello All. Who says crime does not pay? Here is a snippet from "The Echo" August 18, 1888 about a Russian traitress of the Nihilists being discovered and executed. Look at the pay off.

                            Cheers.
