  • An account from 1899 - who was Jane Green??

I really don't know where to start with this one...
The section below is from an article entitled Zangwill's Ghetto published on 18 November 1899.
This section of the article on Whitechapel is about Dorset Street and the Whitechapel murders and claims:
    1) The first murder took place in Frying Pan Lane (sic) and the victim was named Jane Green
    2) Two victims were found a week later in "McCarthy's Court"
    3) The last of the victims (7 in number) was found at the stage door of the Cambridge Music Hall

Make of this what you will...

I have a copy of Zangwill's "Children of the Ghetto A Study of Peculiar People'" - published in 1893. Not a book I have read yet. Having had a quick 'flick' there is nothing jumping out about JTR. I will do a bit more reading.
