  • Silly Thoughts...........

Just some silly thoughts I had after my readings..........If I'm not mistaken
I believe the Hanbury murder occurred at number 29.....Annie Chapman's last bed at the lodging house was number 29 and the murder in Mitre Square was beside number 29! What's with these 29's? Silly coincidence I know but I can see a numerologist or conspiracy theorist running with it....maybe JTR was 29 years old? Hutchison anyone? I know silly, very silly......

Another thing, I believe that Stride Eddowes and Mary Kelly both occurred on rainy nights. I don't know if Eddowes was done actually while raining or if it had stopped for a while........? I also don't believe it was raining with Chapman and Nichols....would a rainy night be better in that less witnesses would be about? Footsteps not heard..? etc...
Probably coincidental that rain occurred on a couple of these evenings...it does make one wonder how much planning JTR went through though...? Was he familiar with the Mitre Square beats for example and knew he probably only had 6 or 7 minutes to complete his deed?

Not much of a thread I know but maybe someone can throw some more 29's at me or something?

    Hi Greg,

here's a table (on-site) that shows the weather conditions and lunar phases on the days/nights of the murders: http://www.casebook.org/victorian_london/weather.html .

    29? Well... 2 + 9 = 11, 1 + 1 = 2. 2 is Yin and Yang, darkness and light, heaven and hell. Or killer and victim...

    Regards,

    Boris

The double event took place on the night of September 29-30.
Martha Tabram was stabbed 39 times. (Maybe 9 is the number you're after!)

Seriously though, it's an interesting little coincidence, but you could pick out any number between 1 to 100 and find things that link the JTR murders to that number....I don't think Jack was that smart.

      Cheers,
      Adam.

Emily Dimmock, a prostitute murdered on September 11, 1907 who became the inspiration for Walter Sickert's "Camdentown Murder" series of paintings and is considered by some as a possible Ripper victim, lived and died at #29 St. Paul's Road.

29 is the highest page number anyone could read to in Trenouth's book. I also believe that Felicity harassed people 29 times.

              29............

Thanks all, great stuff, there's something amusing about such things but I'm sure they're of no significance...............thanks Boris for the weather reports............it appears rain wasn't much of a factor for JTR.......I still believe he was mostly a lucky opportunist......Surely there's more good 29's out there............?

                Surely, Greg.

Patricia Cornwell drinks 29 gin-tonic every morning.

                  Hello you all!

Maybe the real age of Mary Kelly was not 25, but 29?!

                      That's a pretty radical thought.
