  • The offspring of the Ripper

    Hi everyone. Although this particular post will get us no definite answers, does anyone here think it possible Jack had children> Or, I'll take it a step further, anyone think he may have living descendants today who are unaware of their macabre ancestor?

    Sure it's possible, especially with the drunkenness and promiscuity and abuse of women in the East End that caused many men to produce children they never knew about. However, even if Jack did have children in the East End it's just as possible that they didn't live long, as the mortality rate was high. I personally doubt he would have been a married family man with children at home.

    I've heard of an adult son of Charles Manson who's had a very tumultuous life, and with life in "the family" Manson probably has several other offsprint. Ted Bundy produced a daughter while in prison. I wonder what her thoughts are or if she even knows.

      I, for one, think it is rather likely possible that Jack had a wife and kids. Based on what I have read about him, he seems to have both an organized personality mixed with some unorganized characteristics. Despite that, however, based on the witness statements, it doesn't sound like he kills his victims in a blitz attack, but rather stalks them, engages them in conversation, lets them take him to an isolated spot, and then, "does his thing." So, it seems he knew how to converse with hhis victims and (at least in my opinion) charm them with some gifts. (See my other post for a discussion on this).

      Therefore, I do think he was able to maintain a somewhat "normal" facade at home with his family, but when his dark urges took over, he ventured out into the night. Just like Dr. Jekyll & Mr.Hyde.

        But he didn't have a penis! That's why he killed in the first place, remember?

        Though I think it's probable that whoever Jack was could've fathered a kid at some point, legitimate or otherwise. I doubt they had condoms in those days (or did they?) and I don't see why just because of what he did that he wouldn't be interested in sex. For all we know he could've been a rapist prior to (or after) his killings (I'm not comparing rape to sex btw, I know they're both completely different things and one is a sod-off wrong).

          Jack was invisible, even his wife couldn't find him!

            When I said I didn't think Jack was a family man, I should've specified that I think he still could've been married at some point. I've written elsewhere that my two favorite named suspects are James Kelly and William Bury, both of whom had wives (and killed them). But I don't think either of them had children, did they?

              Hello you all!

              Since Jacky hasn't been found, it's possible to both ways;

              That he was a murderer with a family facade...

              Or that he was a loner...

              But like JTSickert stated, he knew, how to charm women, so, the first one is more probable!

              I don't know, what the possible descendants would do, if they found some items only to be related to the Ripper from the attic of their old home...

              All the best
